The Company was incorporated as a noble goal, namely to educate the community plan for the future. Dated December 31, 1859 to the early pace in Indonesia Jiwasraya born with the name Levenverzekering Nederlandsche Indische Maatschappij en Lijvrente (NILLMIJ). In this way, the company experienced consolidation with nine companies owned by another Dutch colonial government and a national company. In the year 1973 turned into Indonesian government-owned company that is now better known as Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN).
